Book of Eli

Last weekend on Saturday, I watched Book of Eli at the theaters. All I can say is that it's one kick ass movie. Denzel Washington really did a great job playing as Eli. He's not such a bad guy as you would see him as in some of the previews or trailers. All he wants to do is complete his "goal" and nothing more. Along the way he meets up in a bar with a cult leader trying to take his book. This follows with fight scenes that's non-stop action. I'm not going to spoil the ending for you. BUT! The ending really is a twist, and his book is something that is basic. The ending also follows through with a theme. So if you have time and if it ever comes out on DVD, you should try to check it out.

My rating 9.5/10
It seemed a little short and there are some parts that you have to think hard about to understand it, just like the theme, Nevertheless it's a great movie.

Qualities Of Heroes/Odysseus

Odysseus is the hero, I guess of his own crew. He is the one that guides them home and throughout the journey. As you may see during the story, Odysseus is not much afraid of anything that crosses his path. He sees the Cyclops as nothing but a mere annoyance and even shouts threats to him. David from Speak was not afraid to stand up to Mr. Neck, which also later makes him a hero in the eyes of Melinda. Another quality of a hero that may relate Odysseus to another is that of always knowing his choice. Never is Odysseus uncertain about a decision that he is about to make. This quality fits into many heroes along with superheroes of today. Never do you truly see Spider-Man think twice about swinging to a building or Superman saving a group of people from a fire. Never do they ever back out. So I'm going to assume those are just a few of the many qualities of heroes of today and also the same of Odysseus.
